Lemon Drop Martini

In my opinion (which I have many of them), I think the perfect martini is one that balances on the tightrope between too sweet and just sweet enough.  This particular recipe took me a couple tasty test runs to get down - but I assure you I am the woman for the job!

Bring to the Party
Absolute Citron, Cointreau, Sweet & Sour Mix

Let the party Dance in Your Mouth!

Lemon Drop Martini (makes 2 Martinis)
3 shots Absolute Citron Vodka
1 shot Cointreau
3 shots  Sweet & Sour Mix

Pour all ingredients into a martini shaker and SHAKE! (this is a serious job...your assignment should you choose to accept is to shake until you think you can shake no more and then shake again - this will give you an ice cold martini)

I chose to wet the rim of my martini glass with lemon juice and then dipped it into lemon sugar...cause that's just how I roll, but you may not choose to do this step.  If you want the sugar, but don't have the lemon sugar you can use a granulated sugar.

  • If you like your martini more on the sour side, add some fresh squeezed lemon juice.
  • If you like your martini more on the sweet side, add a teaspoon of sugar.
  • If you like your martini  more on the stiff side...well add some more Vodka, I won't tell anyone...
While I am thouroughly enjoying the fruits of my labor as I write this...I have to confess I will continue playing with this recipe because I think there are many mouthwatering variations to this martini...welcome to my playground!

Until then.....Bottoms Up!
